Journal of Popular Culture 25 followers The Journal of Popular Culture is a peer-reviewed journal and the official publication of the Popular Culture Association. The popular culture movement was founded on the principle that the perspectives and experiences of common folk offer compelling insights into the social world. The fabric of human social life is not merely the art deemed worthy to hang in museums, the books that have won literary prizes or been named “classics,” or the religious and social ceremonies carried out by societies’ elite. The Journal of Popular Culture continues to break down the barriers between so-called “low” and “high” culture and focuses on filling in the gaps a neglect of popular culture has left in our understanding of the workings of society.

Cultural Analysis: An Interdisciplinary Forum on Folklore and Popular Culture 9 followers Cultural Analysis is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to investigating expressive and everyday culture. The journal features analytical research articles, but also includes notes, reviews, and cross-disciplinary responses. Cultural Analysis is global in scope, with an international editorial board.

The Journal of Religion and Popular Culture 18 followers Popular culture is an often-overlooked part of the fundamental religious "quest" and the cultural understanding of "what religion is" in that like "high" art, the popular arts and media not only explicitly portray religion and religious ideas, but also serve the "religious" purpose of conveying meaning in the people and values it represents. Articles in the JRPC are not restricted to any single religious tradition or definition of religion, or to any single disciplinary approach. Both "theological" interpretations, and analyses which explore the intersection between Media Studies/Film Studies/Cultural Studies and Religious Studies in all their diversity, are encouraged. Religion may be conceived in terms of the expression of core beliefs and values, constructed in dialogue between the individual and culture, including popular culture, or purely as a cultural construction.
