Discourse Studies is an international, multidisciplinary and peer-reviewed journal for the study of text and talk. The Journal of Psycholinguistic Research covers a broad range of approaches to the study of the communicative process, including: the social and anthropological bases of communication; development of speech and language; semantics (problems in linguistic meaning); and biological foundations. It also examines the psychopathology of language and cognition as well as the neuropsychology of language and cognition.
The journal publishes carefully selected papers from the several disciplines engaged in psycholinguistic research, providing a single, recognized medium for communications among linguists, psychologists, biologists, sociologists, and others.

The journal provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, students and emerging scholars from diversified backgrounds, interests, and nationalities. Its focus is professional communication in local, national, international, and global worksite and civic settings. The subject areas cover the management, design, development, translation and delivery of international professional information, as well as issues relating to the education and training of practitioners and researchers.
The journal encourages the submission of original research articles, review articles, and teaching cases. It invites manuscripts that are solidly grounded in theory and research related to international professional communication, namely rhetorical, functional, social, agency, activity, actor-network, cultural and intercultural, multimedia and multimodal informed approaches. The main publishing language is English. The journal also publishes manuscripts written in Portuguese, French, and Spanish, containing 500-word summaries of the manuscript, in English.
