The aim of the journal on the relationship is an international platform for the development of transdisciplinary studies between tourism, culture and territorial development. Almatourism aims to improve the convergence and the integration of different disciplines studying the tourism sector, and an instrument to disseminate internationally the research and academic results, with special attention of the Neo-latin and Mediterranean area. In particular, the Journal publishes articles concerning tourism-related cultural issues, both at the theoretical and practical level. Different disciplinary approaches are present, such as history, geography, economics, statistics, sociology, environment studies, law, and more in general all the approaches in the social sciences and humanities field. The articles are published in English and Italian; there will be also the possibility to accept contributions in English and other languages, such as French, Spanish, or German. Two main strategic issues concern tourism research in a local development perspective covered by this journal are : 1. the relationship between tourism and cultural heritage in an economic perspective, in which professional and institutional skills, organisational and managerial capabilities, and rigorous, deductive ways of reasoning play a crucial role; 2. the relationship between tourism and cultural heritage in a humanistic perspective, in which the geographical and historical sedimentations of places are more relevant, and theoretical inductive reasoning prevails. This approach is also related to effective relationships with the stakeholders through quali-quantitative communication tools. Therefore, the research fields characterizing the Journal are related to the following main themes: - Analysis of demand and supply in tourism destinations - Anthropology of Tourism - Competitive Strategies in Tourism - Corporate finance for tourism firms - Cultural anthropology - Cultural Geography - Destination Marketing - Economy of arts and heritage - Financial accounting in tourism firms - Financial services and investment in the tourism sector - Geography of Development and Tourism Systems - Geomarketing - Geographical Information Systems - Governance and Policies of Tourism - Heritage and local development - History of consumption and fashions - History of tourism, holidays and recreation - Innovation management in Tourism - International management in Tourism - Investment and financing decisions in tourism firms - Land organisation and planning - Law for arts - New Economic Geography (related to tourism and culture) - Organization and Strategy in Tourism - Pricing: bundling or unbundling the tourism offer - Sense of places and cultural tourism - Service Management - Social, ethical and environmental accounting and reporting in tourism firms - Sociology of Tourism - Statistics for Tourism - Territorial Marketing - Tourism Economics - Tourism Geography - Tourism Law - Virtual tourist communities - Web-based Services for tourism marketing
